How to Turn Any Instagram Reel Audio into iPhone & Android Ringtone
Learn how to extract viral music or voiceovers from Instagram Reels and set them as custom phone ringtones, alarm tones, or text notifications.

Have you ever heard an amazing acoustic cover, hilarious soundbite, or motivational quote on an Instagram Reel that you wanted as your phone ringtone or morning alarm? Follow this guide to set it up in under 3 minutes.
Step 1: Extract High-Quality Audio from the Reel 1. On Instagram, find the public Reel featuring the song or sound effect you want. 2. Tap the **Share** button and tap **Copy Link**. 3. Open [Extract Instagram Audio to MP3](/extract-instagram-audio-mp3). 4. Paste the link and click **Download**. 5. Tap **Download Audio (MP3/AAC)** to save the high-bitrate sound file to your phone.
Step 2: Set as iPhone Ringtone (Using GarageBand) Apple requires ringtones to be formatted in `.m4r` format. You can do this directly on your iPhone without a Mac or iTunes using Apple's free GarageBand app: 1. Open **GarageBand** on your iPhone and select the **Audio Recorder** instrument. 2. Tap the **Tracks** icon (third icon from top left, looks like brick layers) to enter the timeline view. 3. Tap the **Loop Browser** icon (top right, looks like a loop string) $\rightarrow$ select **Files** $\rightarrow$ tap **Browse items from the Files app**. 4. Select your downloaded MP3 audio file and drag it onto the audio timeline. 5. Trim the audio clip to your favorite 25–30 second segment. 6. Tap the top-left triangle $\rightarrow$ **My Songs** to save the project. 7. Long-press the saved project $\rightarrow$ tap **Share** $\rightarrow$ select **Ringtone** $\rightarrow$ tap **Export**. 8. Tap **Use sound as...** $\rightarrow$ choose **Standard Ringtone** or **Standard Text Tone**.
Step 3: Set as Android Ringtone & Alarm On Android, setting custom MP3 ringtones is instantaneous: 1. Open your device **Settings**. 2. Go to **Sound & vibration** $\rightarrow$ **Phone ringtone** (or Notification sound / Alarm). 3. Tap **My Sounds** or **Add Ringtone (+)**. 4. Select your downloaded audio file from your Downloads folder and tap **Save**.
